The Next round of heroes to call themselves the Justice League are here. Gathered by Lady Blackhawk, who goes back to using the name Black Canary whilst among them, to uncover a plot to cripple the founding team by a secret organization that has teamed with a global alien infiltration

Martian Manhunter: J'onn J'onzz

Darksied, Liege of Apokalips, was on a quest to discover the Anti-Life Equation. He employed the use of the Kryptonian raiders, raised on Warworld, to track down elements of it on inhabited worlds by conquering them and then extracting the elusive elements he needed to help bring him closer to his discovery. he also employed seers to try to help him track down what he needed. when these seers told him that his downfall would come from sector 2814 of Guardian patrolled space, he assumed that this meant the only technologically capable planet in the system, Mars. he secretly sent a contingent of raiders to locate a part of the equation and in the process wipe the planet clean of all life forms. since this was an open act of aggression, and a violation of the treaty with New Genesis, to destroy the evidence of his involvement, he acted to rid himself of the entire sector with a solar impact shell and then destroy krypton once it was launched. even though he bribed Yellow Lantern Sin-es-tro to ensure that the shell would hit its mark, it did not. when the lantern search party came looking for a-bin-sur and sin-es-tro, they saw the carnage on Mars and were able to locate a solitary survivor in a hidden temple. the survivor was not spoken of, but secreted to Oa and kept there until they could determine his importance. he grew up on Oa, constantly under guard by the robotic Manhunter Army. eventually, the Martian, J'onn J'onzz decided he wanted to be usefu,l so he said if he was going to be surrounded by the Manhunters at all times, then he should be one. he began a rigorous training regimen and eventually was allowed to go on missions with a squad to capture criminals. he was given a genetic scrambler which masked his genetic signature from detection. he would develop his mental powers so much that he could consciously use the scrambler to even alter his genetic structure to shapeshift. When Superman came to Oa to locate his missing comrades from earth, J'onn made a psychic connection with him, and saw that he needed to accompany him. when Superman was fighting Darkseid, J'onn joined the battle at a crucial moment and gave superman the opening he needed to defeat the despot. After returning to Oa, he helped Green Lantern Hari Jouon and Wondergirl Troia avert the manhunter uprising and then returned with them to earth to locate new recruits for a new manhunter army. While there, he was approached by Lady Blackhawk aka Black Canary to join her in forming a new Justice League.


Black Canary: Zashiki Kurotori
Master kunoichi assassin

Zashiki was taken in by the renowned assassin, Jade Canary. teaching her the deadliest arts, she was an extremely deadly assassin at a young age. Jade Canary, along with Deathstroke, and King Snake were the highest ranking shinobi in the league of shadows. Onishusoku made a deal with Jade Canary that he would free her from her contract with him to be independent if she volunteered her pupil to infiltrate the clandestine Red Hand organization. she agreed and the young kunoichi became known as Red Canary. [link] she operated as a member of the League of Shadows under orders of the Red Hand, but secretly gathered information for onishusoku. when her undercover game became too dangerous, she told Onishusoku that if she wasn't extracted from the organization in a week, she would be dead. on a mission, she met with a young archeology student named Ori Kasaki. the two fell hard for each other, but when the deadline came, Onishusoku came thru with an escape. it meant marrying into the legendary noble Blackbird clan to the heir, Blackhawk. as a show of good faith that he intended to follow through on his promise, he split an ancient artifact and gave the two canaries the halves. when he found out what she intended, Ori fought with her, for he wanted the two of them to be together, but she didn't tell him everything that was involved so she left. that night she appeared to ori in his bed chamber and the young couple made love. afterward, Ori spoke of their future together and how proud he was of her for not going thru with the wedding. she got quiet and then told him that she did go thru with the wedding. she also told him that in order to be able to meet with him, she had to consummate her marriage. the young archeologist was enraged and crushed. not being able to share her, Ori sent her back to her new clan, and the two didnt see each other for years...14 to be exact.

Emerald Archer: Ori Kisaki

Young Ori Kisaki buried himself in his work, and eventually became a renowned archeologist. on one dig, he was uncovering the temple/tomb of a great emperor. when they breached the inner chamber of the emperor, the head of the security detail for the dig, Kisai Mahoutsukai, joined the team. they found a secret passage way to a hidden vault which contained a vast army of jeweled terracotta soldiers guarding a vast fortune of riches and ancient tomes and scrolls. Ori recited the legend of the Precious Arrow Battalions from one of the tomes, and how this emperor was so wealthy that he had many enemies. he had mystics place enchantments on the arrows that were made out of different precious metals or stones. each had a battalion of archers to protect him. the security chief got greedy and wanted to kill them all for all of the riches. he killed Ori's mentor and his wife and the two struggled. the chief grabbled the obsidian bow and launched an arrow with such malice that an angry tiger of enchanted energy crashed into the ceiling and started to collapse the chamber. the chief grabbed as many obsidian and onyx arrows as he could throw in his bag to the obsidian and onyx bows and fled the collapsing cave. trapped behind tremendous rubble, ori thought his life was over when after a few days no one came to save him. surprisingly, he didn't suffocate. he figured he'd starve to death until he saw a rat scurrying thru the chamber. he picked up the nearest bow and arrow- emerald, and tried shooting at the rat to no avail. the next day he tried again and caught it. he figured that there was air making its way in so there must be a secondary way out that was created by the chamber collapse, as shown by the rat entering. he trained with the emerald arrows daily with the scrolls that were left behind about how to use the precious arrows. he would learn that he could exert menal conrol over an arrow once it was launched, but one it stopped moving, he could no longer. he also had an awareness of where the arrows were at all times. he also would dig a certain amount every day. he not long after found and underground spring that was connected to the chamber where he could drink water and eat insects. months and months later, he finally found his way out. knowing how dangerous the arrows could be, he collected them and snuck them out of the region. he decided to use the arrows to protect the disenfranchised. he became a master archer and eventually took on several apprentices that he would bestow a precious bow and set of arrows to. The arrows allow the archer to funnel emotional energy into the enchanted arrow to activate the latent spells for mystical attacks. the chief securtiy officer would resurface later as the Obsidian Archer and his apprentice Shado who he granted the use of the Onyx arrows.


Red Tornado

To prove that nature and science could coexist, a scientist decided to capture elemental spirits, and house them in android bodies of his design. His first attempt was deemed a failure, and he never spoke about it. the second time around, he created androids for earth, air, fire, and water. they were Yellow Avalanche, Red Tornado, Blue Inferno, and Green Tsunami. the androids carried out their natural tasks of affecting the world, except now, the population could put a face to the destruction they dealt with. the androids became hated and feared. but one started to gain a personality. he realized it wasn't nature's orders they were following, but the demented scientist that created them. as he spent more time observing humans, the more the red tornado wanted to be like them, and not torment them. while looking in on one of the villages, he heard a rumor of a fifth elemental android. He went on a search to locate this free elemental. he had to evade capture by his "siblings" when he began his quest. eventually when he found him, he learned that not only was he able to free himself from his creators programming, but the elemental Black Lightning was now human. Red Tornado gets recruited to the new Justice League before he locates Black Lightning.


Hawkgirl: Kendra Takagawa
Merged with former mystic game card Shayera, the Hawk-Angel


Kendra tries to get acclimated to her new dual life with Shayera, continuing school, and her hunt for Shadow Thief. Shadow Thief uses his newly acquired wealth to invest in a card game company that gets almost overnight popularity. stadiums are set up where kids can come with their cards and "battle" with the holographic projectors acting out the battles for the spectators. what the populace doesn't know is that sometimes it isnt fake. Shadow Thief has agents going around challenging true card holders to collect their cards and return them to their master. Kendra joins one of the leagues in an attempt to find the cards that belonged to her grandfather. she is able to participate in battles as Hawkgirl, since she is recognized as a card, but when engaged in a duel, she is still bound to the rules of the game. kendra eventually discovers the existence of Booster card packs. mystical totems and powerups that enhance Hawkgirl's abilities during a battle, such as: Nth Metal Armor, and Celestial Sword. she has a group of friends from school that are part of the league too that she hangs out with. one is a nuisance of a boy named Haru Katoh. she really doesn't get along well with him, but when she discovers the Lord of Hawks card, Shayera compels her to acquire that particular card. she gets the card, but not realizing how important it is, kendra uses it unwisely and Qatar-Hol, the Lord of Hawks is mortally wounded. because of the way in which kendra used the card, the being trapped in it will cease to exist if it dies. shayera explains to kendra and her friends just how important the lord of hawks is to her. kendra's nemesis Katoh, after hearing the story, and knowing how kendra and shayera are bonded cuts both of his palms placing one on the fading card, and one on the bloody chest of Qatar-Hol. the Lord of Hawks' essence flows into the boy and the card disintegrates. the boy now shares a similar symbiotic relationship with the being that is now referred to as Hawkman.[link] the shock of this new existence has him fly from the arena. kendra decides she need to learn more about the cards to avoid making any more mistakes that shadow thief can take advantage of. eventually she acquires a mentor in the form of the card of Zauriel, the Celestial Angel. she finds out that there is a way to release the card inhabitants without having to bind them to a living or hollowed body. after forming the Birds of Prey, Lady Blackhawk contacts Hawkgirl for a secret mission which involves the formation of a new Justice League.


Blue Beetle: Tetsuo Kudo
Alien Nanosect armor and weaponry

Two alien races were at war. rather than risk either of their worlds to destruction, each chose a champion and put the resources of their respective world to making them the epitome of combat. the champions were the Scarlet Scarab and the Cerulean Centipede. the two fought on an uninhabited moon that orbited one of the planets. they were too evenly matched and just kept escalating their attacks until finally they struck out at each other at the same time. the impact knocked them both off of the moon's surface and each of the weapons went inert, but not before being corrupted by the other. years later, the scarab would be found by archeologist Ori Kisaki. he submitted it to the museum he was affiliated with, and it went on display. a thief broke into the museum to make off with something priceless, but the thief was strangely attracted to the artifact of the scarab. just then a powerful being burst thru the roof looking for the scarab. it called itself the Scarlet Centipede and told the thief to pick up the scarab so that they could continue their battle. the thief didn't want any part of it, but the Scarlet Centipede threw him into the display and the scarab attached itself to him. when it connected to his central nervous system, he got hit with a jumble of images. he instinctively knew how to use the alien nanotech to form weapons to defend himself from the Scarlet Centipede's attacks. however he wasn't as well versed with the tech as his foe was. when the killing blow was about to be struck, the centipede froze up. they realized that both nanosect devices were now a part of each other and couldn't destroy the other although the compulsion to engage in battle was a fundamental aspect of its creation. the centipede fled until it could determine how to deal with these conflicting protocols. the impulse to fight for the good of the people was also embedded in the scarab which now funneled into the thief. he uses the nanoswarm to create weapons and vehicles, but the more intricate or powerful the construct, the less power he has at his disposal until the swarm returns. Ori sees all of the action on the security cameras and discovers the identity of the new holder of the scarab. he gives him an opportunity to fulfill his protection protocols by joining the new justice league.


EDIT: i just recently went over my notes and i have the Centipede down there as The Crimson Centipede! I now remember that i was trying to stick with the double letter names Scarlet Scarab, Cerulean Centipede, Blue Beetle...!
